As part of its commitment to positive impact, Corporación Hijos de Rivera sponsors the Sustainable Rural Forum, an annual event that brings together experts, professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and civil society representatives to discuss and promote rural sustainability.

In July 2023, ELIURPI gave a workshop on the idea of creating a contemporary object with elements from the Ribeira Sacra and Chantada environment, using ancestral techniques that were incorporated into each participant's way of working.

Aceite. Peso (Oil, Weight), by the artist Rodríguez-Méndez, was the first artistic intervention carried out in the palleira (haystack) of the Vilaseco space.

Vilaseco, in collaboration with Manchea, is researching the use of flax in the production of paper.

Based on the testimonies of the neighbours and the previous research carried out by the archaeologist Manuel Rodríguez Calviño, we have carried out a traditional flax cultivation, recovering the memory of the rural women in the production of a sustainable and local product.

The production of cloth in Galicia was of great importance at different times in our history, reaching its peak in the 17th and 18th centuries, although the artisanal and domestic production of cloth continued until well into the 20th century.

Vilaseco wants to learn the techniques of traditional crops, recovering the knowledge of rural women to use the resources of the land in a sustainable way.
