Meeting of curators in the interior of Galicia

Considered the periphery of the peripheries, the Galician art scene has historically been accused of a lack of institutional structure that leads our artists to choose between staying - and the lack of opportunities that implies - or leaving - and thus confirming the incompatibility of the possibility of developing an international career in the visual arts from our place of origin.

For this reason, based on a series of experiences developed in recent years in other contexts with similar problems, ADENTROS is a project that aims to promote the possibility of staying - establishing Galicia as a point from which to develop a full artistic career - promoting a programme of meetings that will bring together different actors from the local, national and international contexts to get to know the place first hand, To promote a programme of meetings that will allow different actors from the local, national and international contexts to get to know first-hand not only what is happening in the studios of the different artists who have chosen Galicia as a place to work, but also in the institutions, in the independent projects, in the field of galleries and in matters of patrimonial interest that are inevitably linked to the current artistic situation.

The aim of this meeting was to invite national and international curators to get to know the context of contemporary art in Galicia by visiting artists' studios, museums and foundations. This is the itinerary for this edition: Lugo: Salvador Cidrás and Vicente Blanco; Sarria: Trienal de Sarria and the Alauda Negra publishing house; Santiago de Compostela: the Nordés and Trinta galleries, the artists Diego Vites, Alejandra Pombo, Berio Molina, Irene Grau, Mauro Trastoy, Pablo Barreiro and some institutions; Lalín: Misha Bies Golas; Agolada: Álvaro Negro and the medieval baldachin of San Xulián de Ventosa; Monterroso: the collective that organises the Agrocuir festival.
