Fibres. The Plant Fibres Workshop is a training programme that will take place in San Cristovo de Mouricios (Chantada) from February to December, resulting from a collaboration between the Galician Public Foundation for Crafts, Espazo Vilaseco, Os Casares and Idoia Cuesta. The programme is divided into four modules in which you will learn the entire process, from obtaining plant fibres suitable for basketry and traditional basket-weaving techniques using different materials, to product design and artistic production.
Workshops

After seven years of promoting contemporary creation as the main protagonist and organising workshops in rural Galicia through the 12 Miradas programme, since 2022 Vilaseco has been organising, coordinating and proposing workshops in the fields of plastic arts, design, architecture and visual arts in San Cristovo de Mouricios (Chantada, Lugo).

Vilaseco workshops invite reflection on the relationship between the context and the creative process, emphasising the values of respect and coexistence with the environment and the people who live in rural areas, always sharing from a non-conformist and curious attitude, seeking to generate a positive impact on the territory.
